Paul Damico was raised in the Houston area, graduating from Klein High School in 1993.  During his time at Klein High School, he was involved in many extracurricular activities, including football, which he was a varsity letterman.

After earning his high school diploma, Paul was enrolled at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.  While at Southwest Texas State, he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.  Besides his social activities, Paul was involved with the faculty of his major, which was Criminal Justice.  Paul was a teaching assistant for Dr. Barry Smith.  During his time as a teaching assistant, he was able to deliver lectures on the death penalty, police procedures and practices, and the theories of punishment.  Paul graduated from Southwest Texas State with a B.S. in Criminal Justice.

After earning his bachelor’s degree, Paul was accepted to many law schools in Texas.   He decided to enroll at St. Mary’s University School of Law, in San Antonio, Texas.  While studying law at St. Mary’s, Paul earned an internship at the Bexar County District Attorneys Office.  He was the lead intern for the 399th District Court.  As an intern, Paul was able to work on and observe felony trials, including two death penalty cases.  In December of 2001, Paul graduated early from St. Mary’s University with his Doctorate of Jurisprudence.  After graduating, Paul passed the Bar Exam and was licensed to practice law in May of 2002.

In July of 2002, Paul returned to the Houston area to begin his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Harris County.  His first assignment was County Court at Law No. 15, Judge Jean Hughes presiding.  While assigned to County Court No. 15, Paul was the #3 prosecutor where he had several jury trials.  He was soon promoted to a #2 prosecutor and assigned to County Court at Law No. 4, Judge Jim Anderson presiding.  As the #2 prosecutor, Paul was able to prosecute the more serious misdemeanors, including DWI, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, and Assault.  After several trials, Paul was assigned to County Court at Law No. 2, Judge Michael Peters presiding.  Paul was then promoted to the Family Criminal Law Division.  During this assignment, he handled nothing but Assault cases where the complainant was not cooperating or recanting the original report.

After his time as a misdemeanor prosecutor, Paul was promoted to the Felony Trial Division.  His first assignment was the #3 Felony Prosecutor in the 185th District Court, Judge Susan Brown presiding.  As a felony prosecutor, Paul never lost a felony trial.  He tried cases including Burglary, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Auto Theft.

After his time in the 185th District Court, Paul was promoted to the position of Misdemeanor Chief.  As a Misdemeanor Chief, Paul was responsible for running a County Court and supervising two misdemeanor prosecutors.  Paul was the Chief Prosecutor in many misdemeanor courts, including Court No. 10, Court No. 8, and Court No. 9.

After serving as a Chief Misdemeanor Prosecutor for over a year, Paul returned to the Felony Division as the #3 prosecutor in the 178th District Court, Judge Bill Harmon presiding.  In February of 2006, Paul decided to leave the District Attorney’s Office.

In February of 2006, the Law Office of Paul Damico, P.C. was established.  Based on his background, his initial area of practice was limited to criminal defense.  As a criminal defense attorney, Paul has handled cases ranging from a Class C Misdemeanor up to and including First Degree Felonies.  He has handled cases in Harris, Montgomery, Brazoria, Galveston, Walker, and Washington County.

As his practice grew, Paul was able to expand his practice into other areas.  His office is experienced in handling Family Law cases; encompassing divorces, child custody, and adoptions.  Other areas of practice include drafting wills, power of attorney, and physician directives.
